PAUL G. DOEG, President & Chief Operating Officer, joined R. H. Perry & Associates in 2001. Mr. Doeg has served as both lead consultant and second team member supporting more than 200 of the firm’s presidential and senior administrative search assignments, focusing on strategic planning of research and sourcing; candidate identification; performing top candidate interviews and preliminary referencing; and coordinating in-depth finalist due diligence, including conducting multiple given and non-given reference checks. In 2012, he assumed the additional role of Chief Operating Officer for the firm.
As a Senior Consultant, his work includes searches for the Chancellor of Antioch University, the Vice Chancellor for Marketing, and presidential searches for Antioch University campuses in New England and Seattle, as well as searches for the Provosts for the campuses in Los Angeles, New England, and Seattle. He is currently supporting the search for the Vice Chancellor and Chief Financial Officer, and the search for the President of Antioch University Santa Barbara. This past spring, he supported the successful search for the President of Tiffin University.
Mr. Doeg has extensive experience in the public sector of higher education, having successfully completed 30 assignments for eight member institutions in the California State University (CSU) System, including 22 engagements for San José State University. Since 2008, Paul has supported five presidential assignments for member institutions of the University of Louisiana System: McNeese State University, the University of Louisiana at Monroe, the University of New Orleans, Northwestern State University and Nicholls State University, as well as searches for the University of Louisiana System President and Executive Vice President & Provost.
In addition, Paul assisted seven North Dakota institutions, including the University of North Dakota and North Dakota State University, in their searches for presidents and senior officers. He has assisted Montana State University-Billings in the 2014 search for the Chancellor, as well as for the Provost and Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs search in 2015, and the Dean of the College of Business search in 2013. Paul also assisted in the search for the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs at the University of Montana-Missoula in 2008.
Paul has served as Treasurer on the board of directors of the Livingston (MT) Humane Society, and played an integral role in the management of its endowment as well as in the development of the organization’s strategic plan. He has also provided pro bono recruitment consulting to the Western Sustainability Exchange, an organization committed to promoting sustainable resource stewardship in the West.
Paul received his B.A. from the University of Virginia. He is based in Asheville, NC.
